One of the most important skills for texting leads is nudging.

What we found, especially in today's world where everyone is texting and getting spam, is that using personality, sending emojis, asking follow-up questions, and even using gifs are great ways to interact with customers or leads in different ways. This is really going to come in handy if you want to increase response rates.

Sending a follow-up text 6 minutes after the first tends to increase conversion rates. It should say something like, Let me know what you're thinking, or just checking in 👍.

Doing that will take the pressure off them and make it feel less like a hard sell to leads who may have ghosted you.

We've implemented a very specific follow-up text on our team that has yielded a lot of success. It adds humor to make it feel less sales-y.

Hey, we've been trying to reach you for a while now. Haven't heard back. And that tells me one of three things. Either you're too busy and just haven't had time to respond to. You're still busy and just have no interest anymore. Or three, you've been abducted by aliens, and in that case, we'll call Elon Musk or NASA to get the search party together.

Use this as an opportunity to build connections. You're not necessarily going to set the appointment directly through text, but you are building a flow and showing them that you're a real person in a world full of text bots, spam, and scams.
