Half Of Agents Would Not Recommend This
A recent poll found that half of agents would not recommend this job to anyone else.
That is a heavy statistic, but it is not hard to understand.
Real estate can be an incredible business, but it is also an industry that never seems to stop shifting. In 2020, agents had to figure out how to sell homes during COVID, sometimes through FaceTime and virtual showings. Then rates jumped above 7%, and affordability changed almost overnight for many buyers. Then came the NAR lawsuit, new rules, confusion, brokerage changes, mergers, and agents moving from company to company trying to find stability.
There is always something.
And that constant instability is one of the reasons so many agents feel burned out.
Of course, having a group around you can help with the obvious things. Shared marketing. Shared expenses. Shared resources. Better systems. More leverage.
But the bigger advantage may be emotional and strategic.
It matters to have people around you who are dealing with the same market, the same client concerns, the same industry changes, and the same pressure. People who can help you think through problems, adjust quickly, and stay grounded when the next shift happens.
Because the next shift will happen.
Over the next 10 to 15 years, one of the biggest differences between the agents who burn out and the agents who build something lasting may not be talent alone.
It may be whether they had people to build it with.
