Comfort is killing your real estate business

Comfort Is Killing Your Real Estate Business

February 19, 20261 min read

In real estate, we like to tell ourselves we’re waiting for the right time. The truth is, we’re usually waiting for comfort.

Comfort is hitting the snooze button instead of waking up early to make the calls.

Comfort is pushing follow-ups until tomorrow because you don’t want to get hung up on or hear “no.” Comfort is telling yourself you’ll take action when you feel confident.

The problem is comfort has a track record, and it’s not great.

Comfort doesn’t create new listings. It doesn’t create opportunities with new clients. It doesn’t create closings. And it definitely doesn’t create freedom. It creates the same results you already have, just with less friction.

Growth is different.

Growth is making the calls when you don’t feel like it. It’s following up when you’re not sure how the conversation will go. It’s hosting the open house even if nobody shows up. It’s having the hard conversation with your client instead of avoiding it and hoping the issue disappears.

And yes, growth can feel uncomfortable. That’s the point.

If you’re waiting to feel ready, you’re going to be waiting forever. Confidence usually shows up after you take the reps, not before. The agents who build real momentum aren’t the ones who always feel motivated. They’re the ones who have learned how to move forward even when they don’t.

So the question isn’t, “Do I feel like it today?” The real question is, “Do I want a better result this year?”
If you do, stop protecting your comfort.

Pick one growth move today. One call you’ve been avoiding.

One follow-up you’ve delayed. One conversation you’ve been dancing around. Do it before you talk yourself out of it.

Comfort is easy. Growth pays.
